Nine Garuda routings proposed

Singapore Airlines plans to extend its codeshare partnership with Garuda Indonesia from 25 October 2026, according to Aeroroutes. The proposal covers Garuda-operated links from Denpasar to Bandung and Sorong; from Jakarta to Bandar Lampung, Banjarmasin, Palangkaraya, Palembang and Sorong; a Jakarta–Jayapura–Merauke routing; and Makassar–Kendari.

Garuda also plans China-focused additions

Aeroroutes separately reports that Garuda intends to broaden its codeshare arrangements with China Eastern and Xiamen Airlines from 25 October 2026. The China Eastern-operated routes listed include Beijing Daxing–Denpasar, Hangzhou–Singapore, Wuhan–Singapore, Xi’an–Singapore and flights from Shanghai Pudong to London’s Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

The Xiamen Airlines plan covers its services from Chongqing, Nanjing and Wuhan to Jakarta. Xiamen Airlines would also add its code to Garuda’s Shanghai Pudong–Jakarta route. Aeroroutes presents all of these additions as plans for the Northern winter 2026/27 season.

Gia Binh opens preliminary airline talks

Travel Daily News Asia reports that representatives of Gia Binh International Airport are holding more than 30 meetings with airlines and other aviation organisations during Routes World 2026, staged in Frankfurt from 21 to 23 October. Discussions address airline requirements and prospective passenger and freight links, but no new services have been confirmed.

The airport is being developed by Masterise Aviation Infrastructure in Bac Ninh province, roughly 40 kilometres east of central Hanoi. Plans cited by Travel Daily News Asia envisage initial capacity of about 30 million passengers a year and possible later growth to 50 million. The development timetable targets 2029 for the start of main-terminal commercial operations, with a smaller VIP facility scheduled for 2027.
