A 50-mile forest trail in south Wales

Guardian Travel reported that the Llwybr Coedwig Cymru Trail, or Wales Forest Trail, runs for 50 miles (80km) from Porthkerry Park near Barry to Pont Walby near Glynneath. The route enters hills above former mining villages in the south Wales valleys, with views towards Gower and Bannau Brycheiniog.

The pilot forms the first section of a larger proposed route. According to the report, the National Forest for Wales hopes the eventual trail will link woodlands across Wales as a forest counterpart to the Wales Coast Path.
