Mexico City: Sala Nezahualcóyotl returns

Mexico Desconocido reports that Sala Nezahualcóyotl reopened in September 2026 following several months of rehabilitation. Located within UNAM’s Ciudad Universitaria, the concert hall places seating around its stage and uses suspended reflectors to distribute sound throughout the auditorium. Reopening performances included cellist Mischa Maisky with the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra; actor John Malkovich subsequently presented a production combining theatre, literature and live music.

Lisbon: seven chefs gather at Belém

Viagem e Turismo reports that the first Dinner of the Year will take place on October 24 in the gardens of Lisbon’s Tower of Belém. Seven chefs from Portugal, Brazil and the United States are due to create a joint menu: Henrique Sá Pessoa, Rui Paula, Noélia Jerónimo, Claude Troisgros, Jéssica Trindade, Rodrigo Oliveira and Michael Schwartz. Music and artistic performances are also planned within a temporary structure covering about 1,800 square metres. Organisers plan a São Paulo edition in 2027.
