New Airbnb benefits
Thrifty Traveler reports that personal and business Platinum cardholders can earn five points per dollar on eligible Airbnb bookings through Amex Travel. The terms require cardholders to link their American Express and Airbnb accounts and book through the Amex Travel portal.
Prepaid Airbnb Luxe reservations of at least two nights are eligible for annual hotel credits of up to $600, according to Thrifty Traveler. An eligible Luxe reservation through Amex Travel also provides a statement credit of up to $250 for Airbnb Experiences, usable during the remainder of that calendar year.
Effect on Vrbo
Skift describes Airbnb as Amex Travel’s exclusive short-term rental partner. Expedia had not been supplying vacation rentals to Amex Travel, but Skift says the agreement blocks a potential expansion through Expedia’s Vrbo business as Vrbo pursues other business-to-business partnerships.
