New minimum stay for the lodging credit
Revised American Express terms reported by Thrifty Traveler introduce a two-night threshold for Fine Hotels + Resorts reservations from January 1, 2027. The rule covers U.S. personal Platinum and Business Platinum cards, according to View from the Wing. Cardholders may still receive the usual Fine Hotels + Resorts amenities on single-night stays, but those bookings will no longer trigger the lodging credit.
The benefit is being renamed the “$600 Lodging Credit.” Its value remains divided into two six-month periods, with a maximum credit of $300 in each. The Hotel Collection already has a two-night requirement, which is not changing.
Airbnb Luxe eligibility
Prepaid Airbnb Luxe reservations now qualify for the lodging credit, with a minimum stay of two nights. To qualify, cardholders must book through the Amex Travel website or app and connect their Airbnb and American Express accounts. Skift separately reports that Airbnb search is being added within Amex Travel.
Thrifty Traveler also reports an Airbnb Experiences credit of up to $250 for Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders. It becomes available following confirmation of an eligible Airbnb Luxe booking, and qualifying Experiences purchases must be made directly with Airbnb before that calendar year ends.
