Delta trails on passenger revenue measures

One Mile at a Time reported that Delta’s Pacific capacity rose 8% year over year in the third quarter of 2026, compared with a 7% increase in passenger yield and 5% growth in passenger revenue per available seat mile. Its load factor declined by two percentage points.

American recorded 14.8% yield growth and an 11.3% rise in passenger revenue per available seat mile as capacity increased 6.6%. United’s corresponding gains were 10.8% and 10.9%, against 5% capacity growth. United’s load factor edged up 0.1 percentage point, while American’s fell 2.6 points.

Non-ticket revenue complicates the comparison

View from the Wing reported that American and United were growing Pacific ticket revenue faster than Delta. It also said Delta’s quarterly filing showed $203 million in Pacific revenue outside ticket sales. Because yield and passenger revenue per available seat mile measure passenger revenue, those comparisons do not capture that additional regional revenue.
