Thresholds stay level
Delta Air Lines will retain its existing Medallion qualification thresholds for 2027, according to The Points Guy and Thrifty Traveler, which reported that an airline spokesperson confirmed the decision Thursday. Members will need 5,000 Medallion Qualifying Dollars for Silver, 10,000 for Gold, 15,000 for Platinum and 28,000 for Diamond.
What members need to know
MQDs earned during the 2027 calendar year will count toward Medallion status lasting through the remainder of 2027 and all of 2028, with that status expiring on January 31, 2029. MQD balances will reset on January 1, 2027, and amounts above a qualification threshold will not roll over.
Members earn one MQD per $1 spent on Delta-marketed flights or Delta Vacations packages. Earnings on eligible partner flights depend on distance and fare class, while certain Delta American Express cards can earn MQDs through spending or provide an annual 2,500-MQD head start.
