Luxury demand under pressure
UAE luxury hotels dependent on long-haul, high-spending travellers have been hit by unrest in the Middle East, according to Skift. The publication reports that budget and midscale properties have fared better, supported by a broader mix of arrivals from short-haul markets.
Sharjah openings planned
The Lux Collective is preparing to enter the Middle East with Lux* Al Bridi and Lux* Khorfakkan in Sharjah. TTG Asia reports that both resorts are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Chief commercial officer Paul Mulcahy told TTG Asia that the company expects GCC travellers to support staycations and weekend visits, while European markets will also be a focus. He said the group remained confident that the region could recover from geopolitical disruption.
