Jade Pacific joins short-haul trade
The Loadstar identifies Jade Pacific Line as a new participant in Asian short-haul container shipping. It says the business was formed by a group of former SeaLead Shipping executives. SeaLead has stopped operating and is in liquidation, according to the publication.
The Loadstar characterises intra-Asia and Middle East routes as favoured starting points for aspiring container-shipping operators. It also describes the industry as increasingly competitive amid volatile trading conditions.
Namsung linked to two firm vessels
Shipbroking sources cited by Splash247 have linked South Korea’s Namsung Shipping to a contract with China’s Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. The reported firm order covers two container ships with capacity of 7,100 TEU each, while options would allow Namsung to add another pair.
The brokers expect the vessels to be delivered during 2030-31. They also identify the Dalian shipyard as being owned by CSSC.
