Contship plans Mediterranean integration

Italian terminal operator Contship has agreed to buy shipping and logistics group Tarros using its Sogemar subsidiary, Splash247 reports. The agreement covers all of Tarros, whose businesses include shipping services and port handling.

According to Splash247, the companies intend to form a major transport network spanning the Mediterranean. The acquisition would also bring Contship back into liner shipping.

Scan Global adds OIA Global

Scan Global Logistics of Denmark has acquired US-based OIA Global, according to The Loadstar. The outlet characterized the transaction as Scan Global’s largest investment to date. OIA Global is based in Portland.

Before the acquisition was announced, The Loadstar had reported speculation about OIA Global’s future. It cited sources who said the business had been on the market, while noting at that stage that it was not known whether a sale had been agreed.
