Party alleges police detentions and vehicle seizures
Vente Venezuela alleged that Bolivarian National Police officers detained seven people responsible for sound trucks used during an opposition gathering at Plaza Venezuela in Caracas on Thursday, 22 October 2026. El Pitazo reported that the party’s human rights team also alleged that three vehicles were confiscated, including one intercepted when its driver reached the Antímano area.
The party identified six people — Rony Suárez, Yanail Castro, Daniel Colmenares, Andruws Pineda, Ramón Brizuela, also known as “Alirito,” and Ronaike Suárez — whose whereabouts it said were unknown. It said it was still confirming the seventh person’s name. The reported detentions and confiscations have not been independently confirmed.
The opposition gathering was called to demand an electoral timetable and the return of María Corina Machado to Venezuela. El Pitazo reported that the governing party had also called a march beginning at Plaza Venezuela that day.
Fourth negotiating round planned for November
Rodríguez said delegations from her interim administration and the 2015 National Assembly were preparing an agenda for another negotiating round planned for November. Tal Cual reported that she made the announcement after receiving chief negotiators Jorge Rodríguez and former legislator Dinorah Figuera at Miraflores Palace following the third round.
Rodríguez said the negotiations had advanced consensus on judicial reforms, political guarantees and efforts involving Venezuelan state resources held abroad. She also said the parties agreed to pursue international steps aimed at directing proceeds from gold held in England toward recovery from earthquake damage recorded in June 2026.
