The national stakes

US voters will choose all 435 members of the House of Representatives, 35 of the Senate’s 100 members and governors in 36 states on November 3. Early voting has begun in some states, while many ballots have already been submitted by mail, according to G1.

States administer and count their own votes, with polling hours varying across the country. The contests renew the entire House and roughly one-third of the Senate.
