Researchers allege Australian organisations were targeted
ABC Pacific says researchers have linked an Israel-based company to alleged cyber targeting of more than two dozen organisations in Australia. The ABC was included in that total, alongside organisations in government, critical infrastructure, higher education and media. The report’s summary does not name the researchers or the company.
OpenAI researchers reportedly dismissed
Separately, RBC relays a Wall Street Journal report that OpenAI dismissed three researchers. According to the account, OpenAI’s security service examined their personal phones before the dismissals and found that some had disappearing Signal messages exchanged with an outside AI-safety specialist. The report does not establish that the messages caused the dismissals.
