Trump claims Musk lifted limits
US President Donald Trump said SpaceX chief Elon Musk had restored Ukraine’s access to Starlink, according to the BBC. Interfax reported that Trump said Musk had removed a speed limit affecting Ukrainian military users. Neither account independently confirmed that Musk imposed or lifted such a restriction.
Trump did not confirm his own role in the reported change. The Moscow Times said he declined to say whether he had spoken with Musk, while Interfax reported that Trump would not comment on whether Musk acted following a call from him.
Network improvement reported, responsibility disputed
The Wall Street Journal reported that Starlink was operating more normally on Thursday, according to The Moscow Times. The Journal placed that improvement shortly after a Trump-Musk conversation, but the reported timing does not establish that the conversation caused any change.
Musk has repeatedly denied restricting Starlink access, the BBC reported. His position conflicts with accounts characterising the network problem as a limitation that he subsequently removed, leaving responsibility for the reported conditions disputed.
