Nationwide calls for liberalisation
Thousands of people rallied across Poland to demand greater abortion rights, DW reported. SRF News separately reported demonstrations in many Polish cities, where participants called for reform of the country’s strict rules on terminating pregnancies.
The demonstrations took place six years after a landmark court ruling tightened abortion restrictions. DW described Poland’s rules as among the strictest in Europe.
