Operation in Qila Saifullah

Pakistani security sources said security forces killed Adil Shah during an intelligence-based operation in Qila Saifullah. Radio Pakistan reported the account on Sunday, according to Dawn Pakistan, while Geo News also attributed the reported killing to security sources.

The sources identified Shah, also known as Darvesh, as a commander affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Radio Pakistan referred to the group as “Fitna-al-Khawarij,” a term the Pakistani state uses for TTP militants. Dawn Pakistan and Geo News did not independently verify the killing or Shah’s alleged position.

Allegations against Shah

Security sources alleged that Shah had been associated with the group since December 2020 and had managed its financial affairs since 2024. They also accused him of involvement in attacks on security forces and kidnappings for ransom since 2022.

The Radio Pakistan account cited by Dawn Pakistan alleged that Shah helped arrange permanent residences for foreign militants in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban. It also said 19 first information reports had been registered against him and that authorities had offered a bounty of Rs2.5 million for him. Dawn Pakistan did not independently substantiate those claims.
