Overnight strikes leave casualties

Two people were killed and 15 injured in overnight Russian and Ukrainian strikes, according to Anadolu. The report did not provide a casualty breakdown by country in its summary.

Moscow and Kyiv describe targets

Russia claimed that it struck drone-production facilities, the Yuzhny bridge and a logistics terminal in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, Anadolu reported. The account did not independently verify those targets.

Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Russian attack involved ballistic missiles and targeted energy, logistics and urban infrastructure across Ukraine, according to Ukrinform. That characterization of the targets was also not independently verified.

Civilian toll in Ukraine

OHCHR civilian casualty monitoring, published by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, had verified at least 17,605 civilian deaths and 55,846 civilian injuries across Ukraine from 24 February 2022 through 30 September 2026. The mission says the actual toll is likely higher because many reports, particularly from inaccessible areas, cannot be independently verified. These cumulative figures are not a toll for the latest overnight strikes and may be revised as earlier incidents are verified.
