Municipality raises estimates

Anadolu reported that Hebron’s municipality said Israeli forces had forced 1,500 Palestinians from their homes, raising the reported toll from earlier estimates. The municipality also said another 2,500 people could be displaced as the operation continued for a second consecutive day on Saturday.

France24 had earlier reported that a Palestinian official put the number displaced at around 1,200, while the head of Hebron’s municipality said another 1,300 might have to leave. RTE News also carried the estimate of about 1,200 displaced in Hebron in the occupied West Bank. All of the figures are attributed claims rather than independently established totals.

Operation followed deadly attack

The Israeli operation followed an attack on Friday that killed two Israeli soldiers, according to France24. The Palestinian Authority called for international pressure on Israel as displacement from Hebron was reported.
