Deaths reported at oil site and airport
The Japan Times reported that two people were killed in a strike on a Saudi Aramco facility and one person died in an attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry separately said debris from an intercepted drone targeting the Shaybah oil field killed a Filipino and a Nepali and injured two other people. The ministry did not identify who launched the drone.
Saudi claims meet Houthi denial
The Saudi-led coalition said on Wednesday that it had intercepted six drones launched toward the kingdom, including in the Madina and Eastern regions. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki did not attribute the launches. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree denied that the group had conducted any “deep” operations inside Saudi territory.
Oil and security response
Oil prices rose as the incidents fueled concern that widening regional conflict could threaten supplies, according to reports from The Japan Times and Danas. KOHA.net reported that the US State Department ordered non-essential personnel and family members to leave the US Embassy in Riyadh amid intensifying attacks.
