Henderson sets global mark in Japan
Australia’s Rebecca Henderson completed the race-walk marathon in three hours, 14 minutes and 52 seconds at the All Japan Race Walking meeting on Sunday, setting a world record in the new championship event.
The Guardian Sport reported that the 25-year-old from Dandenong lowered the previous record by 19 seconds in rainy conditions.
Doncic powers Lakers to 3-0
Luka Doncic scored 52 points and made eight three-pointers in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 132-123 win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday. ESPN reported that it was the NBA season’s first 50-point game.
The victory extended the Lakers’ unbeaten start to three games.
Antonelli wins but title remains unsettled
Championship leader Kimi Antonelli won the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. The 20-year-old finished ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen taking third place.
Antonelli did not secure the Formula One championship in Austin. BBC Sport reported that he needs two more points for his first world title, leaving the next round in Mexico as his next opportunity to clinch it.
