Cotonou announces weekend and holiday services
The Autonomous Port of Cotonou announced that cargo-removal services would be available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from Saturday, 24 October. The port said the measure was intended to ease congestion, accelerate formalities and reduce the time needed to remove goods.
Customs, cargo handlers, shipping agents, Bénin Control, banks and other organisations involved in port operations were called on to maintain continuity on days normally treated as non-working. Matin Libre reported scepticism among some actors about whether all services and personnel would operate at the planned times, leaving the initiative’s practical implementation uncertain.
