Revised Artemis targets
Under NASA’s revised outline, Artemis III would be an Earth-orbit test flight targeted for mid-2027. Officials also project a crewed lunar landing in 2028 as part of planning for Artemis III, IV and V, according to SpacePolicyOnline.com. Both dates remain targets for future missions, not completed milestones.
The 2028 landing plan remains dependent on development of SpaceX’s Starship. The available reporting does not establish that the vehicle is ready for that mission, leaving the projected landing subject to further development.
Arstechnica also reported that NASA updated its lunar-lander planning and resolved a long-running issue involving the Orion spacecraft. The report’s available details do not specify the lander changes or the technical nature of the Orion resolution.
