NASA completes 500-second engine test

NASA says it tested RS-25 developmental engine No. 10001 on October 21 at the Fred Haise Test Stand at Stennis Space Center, near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The ground firing lasted 500 seconds, or almost eight and a half minutes.

According to NASA, that duration matches the firing time for RS-25 engines during a Space Launch System rocket launch. The agency said the test supported future Artemis missions.

China’s missions remain in preparation

In separate developments that have not yet been completed, NASASpaceflight reports that China is preparing its first commercial resupply craft, a first booster reflight and another rocket-landing attempt. The report does not specify launch dates or provide further mission details in the available information.
