The Cut

About the event

World Premiere The Cut A coproduction with Winnipeg Jewish Theatre Written By Jordi Mand Directed by Philip Akin In the nursery of their soon-to-be-born child, Sarah and Drew are unpacking boxes and preparing for a new beginning. But when the question of circumcision arises, the ordinary quickly turns urgent. Raised in deeply different religious traditions, this couple finds themselves locked in a raw and revealing debate about their baby's future - and their own. What starts as a single decision opens into buried wounds, unspoken regrets, and the fault lines of love and belief. The Cut is an intimate, gripping two-hander about faith, identity, and partnership at a breaking point - asking what it truly takes to build a future when fundamental values collide. 2025 Carol Bolt Award Recipient for In Seven Days "Mand's dialogue is fast-paced, witty... a touching sense of shared experience between the story and its audience." - Eden Eidt
